Earlier today, at appx. 03:30 in the morning, British Airways flew its first ever flight - BA-0000, a concession from Melanie City Southwest to Midcity Van Gough airport. Two passengers attended the maiden voyage, which went mostly well; the pilot was largely inexperienced and as such made a few errors during the flight, most notably not plotting a route before takeoff, requiring an immediate landing at MSI. The pilot overestimated the length of the runway and hit a sand drag at the end of it.
British Airways now operates four services between MSI and MDC:
- BA-0001: MSI -> MDC @ 12:00, Daily
- BA-0002: MDC -> MSI @ 15:00, Daily
- BA-0003: MSI -> MDC @ 00:00, Monday-Friday
- BA-0004: MDC -> MSI @ 03:00, Monday-Friday
For legal reasons, the airline is temporarily headquartered in the Kemonomimi Republic, with the home airport being MSI.
British Airways provided the following statement:
“We plan to expand our offerings beyond just this service. When the government finally establishes a city it plans to build in World One, its airport will no doubt become our base of operations in World One. When Heathrow opens, it’ll, of course, become our base of operations in World Two. For obvious reasons, flights between the two airports will not be offered.”
A government spokesperson refused to state the planned name of the future settlement, though they did confirm that a name had been selected.
