Basuran Cold War Heats Up
The cold war in Basura between the states of Ashe’s House and the Federal Capital has rapidly escalated, most recently with the installation of a machine that hurls feces across the border on Ashe’s House’s territory, as well as a large sign placed on the roof that reads ‘Federal CAPITAL? [sic] more like [sic] federal [sic] capitaL’.
Despite the tensions, Basura’s passport design seems to be going well, with most states having passed their regional designs over, including Ashe’s House. Another element of what appears to be a deliberate attempt at soft power is the establishment of a bank in the basement of Ashe’s House that serves Visa credit and debit cards. While currently empty, the bank claims it will offer “Visas [..] much superior to any visa the [Basuran Federal Union] issues.”
The current situation remains murky, especially with the Federal Capital’s lack of retaliation. This has led some to believe that the Capital is incapable of fighting back, presumably due to the nuclear warhead the state of Ashe’s House owns, concerns over crossfire, or a drawn-out play to prepare a retaliatory strike.
