Transport for Londinium, in coordination with the Government, have officially announced the construction of an all-new train station, and the initial skeleton of the building itself has been completed. The station would be split into two parts, King’s Cross Underground Station, serving several Londinium Underground lines, and St. Pancras International, serving AirCS and a yet-unnamed main line railway to Vista Del Arroyo, according to a press document sent to journalists.
The architect for the station, Matthew Stenton, provided the following statement:
“We want to go with more of a Victorian feel for the station, hence the semi-spherical shape and the use of arches for support. We’ll be making use of glass for the station body, and multiple entrances will ‘jut out’, so to speak.”
The station is expected to be a major interchange point, with rumours that it would eclipse or even replace Bond Street in future. When asked about this, TfL declined the rumour but noted that the entire Londinium Underground network being dependent on one central station is a major design flaw.
