Kingdom of Union Jacks Accidentally Declares War On KR
At five minutes to midnight on the 31st of March, a government employee made a fake government announcement claiming the “Department of Warmongering and Looting” (an obvious spoof) had declared war on the Kemonomimi Republic. On the strike of twelve o’clock, however, the Server Administration acknowledged the conflict, meaning that peacetime had officially ended.
The government has rapidly constructed a new military base in Exeter. The base houses a large fleet of warplanes and tanks, and is ready to be deployed at any time.
The Kemonomimi Republic immediately acknowledged the war by putting in place travel restrictions on both affected countries. Other countries followed suit, with some implementing full-scale travel bans and others opting to narrow down to Exeter and Kanon, the two regions of KR and the KUJ that share a border. KR also noted that they do not believe the KUJ to be a threat and are opting to remain alert but take no preemptive action. The President of Sorena denounced the declaration, saying that ‘war mongering has no place in our world’, noting that ‘sweeping tariffs’ would be placed on KUJ imports. Yavno’s federal fact-checking body declared the war to be fake, which the Home Office immediately refuted. Furryburg offered to serve as mediator in diplomatic talks between the two countries at war. The Solstan Federation denounced the attacks and noted that military support would be provided.
The situation is still developing, and the government has encouraged all able-bodied citizens to enlist in the armed forces.
