Slough to Amalgamate into Londinium as Borough of Croydon in 2026

On the First of January 2026, the incorporated city of Slough will be merged into Londinium as the Londinium Borough of Croydon, which (barring no other boroughs are formed) would make it the second Londinium Borough to exist.

The goal is to ‘fund the establishment of an industrial sector’ and ‘stimulate the economic growth of the region’. We asked the Government why they chose to merge Slough in, and they said:

“Slough is too close to Londinium for anyone to reasonably consider it to be a city. As such, it makes little sense for there to be a separate administration, which is a legally complex and expensive process that never began, hence why the area is empty.”
