Westminster Station Shuts Down due to Parliament Renovation
Westminster Station has officially been shut down as a result of the Westminster renovation. TfL cited ‘low traffic and the potential requirement for Parliament to need more space’. The nearby O3 tower has been torn down as well, meaning people in the vincinity may suffer from poor cell signal coverage.
The Houses of Parliament made the following statement:
“The new Houses of Parliament will make full use of the space behind it; we hope to install an open-air debate space to encourage passing laws in the open, not behind closed doors.”
