The City of Exeter has unveiled a brand-new lighthouse on the city’s outskirts. Located on the aptly named Lumen Island†, the building is of a traditional red-and-white design, with a stone brick base, oak floors, and several spiral staircases connecting the floors together. The building itself is expected to draw tourists into the area by providing a view of the ocean as well as a perfect location for postcards and photogenic selfies.
ELR Line 6, when it opens, will serve the lighthouse, and a riverbus service will open shortly, running once every fifteen minutes in every direction from Westferry.
† The lumen is a measurement of light, specifically of a light source’s luminant flux rather than its power.
