Metropolitan Police Purchases Horse From Yavno For Use By Police

The Metropolitan Police officially purchased a horse from Estend City Hall for use in its patrol fleet. Lieutenant Colonel† Dantsu Flame, a purepred Yavnian filly†† aged approximately nine months, was found on the streets of Estend after its owner appeared to have abandoned it. Estend City Hall made a call for the owner to collect it and waited for over two months for an owner to claim the horse. When nobody did, the Metropolitan Police stated that it was interested in the horse.

Police Constable of the Exeter Police Force, Richard O’Reilley, had the following to say:

“She may not be remarkably fast, but she’s got the sort of endurance that would embarrass marathon runners. As for the name, to be completely honest, my son suggested it; it’s from the anime Umumasume: Pretty Derby, and it’s a show about ‘horse-girls’ that race each other. I thought it was kind of cute given that, well, this horse is a girl.”

On the treatment of police horses, a spokesperson of the Met provided the following:

“Here at the Met, we are very proud of our horses. We’re planning to build two stables, one in Londinium, and another in Exeter, which will serve as safe and comfortable homes for many police horses. Sure, the police horses patrol a lot, but it’s a fairly relaxing job as far as the horses are concerned. They get to sleep on grass at night, and for enrichment, the officers are requried to let them run around a bit now and again.”

† Police horses are given the official title of Lieutenant Colonel however they are not part of the British Army, Navy, or Royal Air Force.

†† A filly is a female horse aged less than four years.
