Yesterday, at approximately 12:09 PM, an explosion was heard at the Red House, resulting in the immediate death of two construction workers. The explosion appears to have originated in the front-left room, based on the concentration of the explosion. The area was immediately sealed off by police and fourteen construction workers with severe injuries (seven with fourth-degree burns and six with third-degree burns) were delivered to Blake Hospital and arrived approximately fourteen minutes later. One worker was pronounced dead on arrival.
The government have cited ‘negligence’ as the cause of the explosion, and deny terrorist motives; an investigation has been announced.
The dismissal of terrorism as a motive before the investigation had begun suggests that the explosion was part of government works gone wrong. No buildings other than the Red House were damaged, though the Wellworths in Londinium remains closed. The area segregated for the AirCS Race has already been repaired.
The Londinium Times wish to dedicate this issue to the victims of the disaster. Reporting will continue as normal, and future developments will be covered.
